We've already gotten a look at the emotional characters who live in the mind of Riley, the star of Pixar's upcoming film Inside Out. But what about Riley herself? She pops up in the very first footage from the movie.
Riley makes her debut appearance toward the end of a featurette at Disney Movies Anywhere (you need to register before you can watch). Riley is not only a character, but also one of the settings of Inside Out, since the characters Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling), and Sadness (Phyllis Smith) live inside her mind, reacting to the turmoil of a new home and a new school when her father moves the family to San Francisco.
In addition to see a few (silent) seconds of Riley, you can also see a bit of test animation of the emotional characters, including the gang roasting marshmallows on Anger's head.
The team also explains that we'll be seeing more 2D animation-inspired movements in the emotional characters, more stretching and squishing of body parts than we typically see in 3D-animated films. It'll be interesting to see how it plays off of the apparent realness of Riley's external world.
