The final numbers are still coming in, but Warner Bros. has predicted that Wonder Woman will bring in over $100-million in the US this opening weekend— over $220-million when you include international sales. This would make Wonder Woman the biggest opening blockbuster for a female director, and cement Diana as one of the most iconic (and lucrative) superheroes of modern cinema. So, let’s celebrate with some amazing artwork!

The folks over at Poster Posse released a series of Wonder Woman tribute posters over the weekend, honoring everything that is our mighty Diana of Themyscira. I’ve included a few of them below, but I definitely recommend checking out the entire collection (Part 1 and Part 2). It’s an impressive assortment of works that made me all warm and fuzzy inside. Sadly, none of them appear to be on sale, but fingers crossed they put some out there. I’d pay good money for that Grecian vase one, I’ll tell you that much.

Check out the posters, and be sure to add your own Wonder Woman tribute works in the comments.

Smashing? Hardly. It’s almost like you are praying people don’t know boxofficemojo.com exists.

Opening weekend record holder (domestic) : Star Wars: The Force Awakens $247,966,675

Opening weekend record holder (international) Fate of the Furious $541,937,239

In other words this “record breaking” movie did 41% of a kinda-meh quality Fast and Furious movie worldwide, and gets it ass kicked domestically by nearly 150% from an also meh-inducing Star Wars movie. Oh, but it gets better :

Best June Opening - Jurassic World $208,806,270 (!)

Single Day Friday Gross # 40 (ouch)

Well, just look at the rest of the bad news yourself. There is not one single metric here that is worth crowing about. If the numbers fall off by even 50% next week (and history says they will do that, or more), this is a dumpster fire that will need hella DVD/Digital sales just to break even.

How do I know this? I started seeing DVD/Digital pre-sales ads on opening night. The studio was hoping for much higher numbers and now they are just hoping and praying they can put the dumpster fire out.

Just one more little twist of the knife on the way out the door : Have you seen the studio announce a sequel? Yes, there are WW2 articles out there, but how many have you seen from the studio execs saying they have greenlit WW2? That would be ZERO. If everything is champagne and roses as you claim, why isn’t the sequel already underway?

Crow all you want, but reality is calling you out as a liar.
