Casper Van Dien will be your Hell Cop, in The Pact

Starship Troopers roughneck Casper Van Dien stars in a new horror film, The Pact, which mashes up a conspiracy movie with a creepy ghost tale. Check out an exclusive look at this supernatural thriller, in select theaters Friday.

Van Dien plays Creek, who's called into help Caity Lotz find her missing sister, after she was attacked by an unknown entity. But when Lotz starts getting attacked as well, shit gets real, ghost-real... at least, that's how it looks. The Pact appears to be one of those twisty movies where you can't tell if the mirror is moving, or the character is crazy. Or maybe this is Hell and Casper Van Dien is running it? Again, we don't know. Here's what we do know:

After their mother passes away, sisters Nicole and Annie reluctantly return to their childhood home to pay their last respects. While staying overnight in the house, the sisters sense a mysterious presence in their midst: noises startling them in the night, objects moving about, a fallen picture of an unknown woman posed next to their mother. Annie begins experiencing a series of intense and disturbing dreams – visions that lead her to uncover something terrible about her mother's past that is finally revealing itself.

The Pact is currently available on VOD and will be opening in NY theaters on July 6th, and in LA theaters on July 13th.

I rented this movie via iTunes. It was slow & horrible. Good or bad, Casper's role in this movie is more of a cameo or guest-appearance. Lack of supernatural elements and when you reach to the conclusion, you kinda of wished the movie was actually a Frighteners-ripoff.

For a more promising slow-tension building horror movie, I recommend The Innskeepers. Not exactly what I expecting but I liked it for what it was. Not to mention there's more fright scenes (not by a whole lot) in this than The Pact.
