Bryan Singer has just announced three more cast members for X-Men: Days of Future Past, and they are three very familiar faces. More and more, it seems that Days of Future Past is going to link X-Men: The First Class with the previous X-Men trilogy and its actors.
Singer tweeted this earlier today, announcing the return of Anna Paquin (Rogue), Ellen Page (Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat), and Shawn Ashmore (Iceman) to the franchise:
Between these three, Hugh Jackman returning as Logan, and Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan reprising their roles as older Professor Xavier and Magneto, Days of Future Past is looking to be crowded with X-Men trilogy actors. Presumably, this trio will be playing older versions of the characters they played in the other X-Men movies. But if Days of Future Past ends up bringing us to the mutant oppressing future, we may very well be seeing alternate timeline versions of these characters. But if that's the case, will the events of the first X-Men movie end up being the First Class's future? Or should we be taking the entire trilogy as just one possible (and not particularly desirable) future?
