If you're the sort of person who likes to wear your literary tastes on your sleeve—or your lapel—these brooches might be for you. Each one is made from the pages of a classic book—Moby Dick, Watership Down, the tales of Sherlock Holmes—highlighting not just the stories, but also the words themselves.

Old and damaged books may be discarded or pulped, but Sarah at House of Ismay gives these books new life as symbols of what they once were. You can nab one of these brooches from her Etsy shop, wear she also sells some lovely notebooks bound in vintage postcards.

In theory I like this, and if you told me that no books were actually destroyed in order to make these (i.e. the words were printed onto the plastic or whatever) then I'd definitely love to have the Aslan brooch. Otherwise, sorry...I can't stomach the idea of destroying books.
