Batman v Superman Visual Effects Video Rains Digital Destruction Down on Everyone

It’s not a surprise that Batman v Superman had a lot of CGI. But an almost 12-minute effects reel reveals how many things were added, removed, and composited. For example, did you know Superman’s cape wasn’t real?

The video was tweeted out by Zack Snyder and it is honestly one of the best VFX before and afters out there. I’m kind of in love with the CG bats. And sad that this movie didn’t just unleash a bunch of angry bats on a small child.

Here’s the whole thing. Please appreciate all the work behind turning Henry Cavill pretend-straining to hold a big green block into Superman stopping a rocket.

I believe movies have stopped using real capes in action scenes because CGI capes are both easier to control and less hazardous to the actors involved.
