Today, from 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. (Eastern time), fantasy author Patrick Rothfuss will be joining us to answer questions about his Kingkiller trilogy, writing about magic, stories-within-stories, and anything else you want to know.


In addition to his latest work in the Kingkiller world, The Slow Regard of Silent Things, Rothfuss is also the author of two novels, The Name of the Wind and The Wise Man’s Fear, as well as a third installment in the trilogy.

The only thing I really want to know is when Doors of Stone is coming out. I know authors hate answering that question—and I understand that giving a date can upset fans when it isn’t met—but can you give us some indication of your best current estimate if we pinky swear not to hold you to it? 2016? 2017? Later? Does the recent announcement of the media deal have any impact on the release date?
