At Long Last, Ghostbusters Fans May Get Their Own Documentary

There are so many pop culture properties that have passionate, organized fan communities. Star Trek, Star Wars, Doctor Who, Marvel, DC, the list goes on and on. But one fandom you may not know much about is Ghostbusters, and a new documentary aims to remedy that.

The documentary is called Ghostheads, and it “explores the extreme side of the Ghostbusters fandom” as well as “look back at the impact the franchise has had on the world over the past three decades.” Ghostheads is directed by Brendan Mertens, who himself is a stable in the Ghostbusters fan community. He’s teamed up with some of the people behind last year’s Back to the Future documentary, Back in Time, to once again explore a new aspect of a 1980s science fiction comedy classic.

And yes, you’ll realize after watching the Ghostheads trailer that it’s more than just a trailer. It’s a pitch for a Kickstarter which needs funds for post-production. But from the stars you can see have already been interviewed for the film, from Ghostbusters co-writer and director Ivan Reitman, to actors Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, William Atherton and more, it’s a cause worth getting behind.

I’m sorry, but that logo is just way too goatse for me to take seriously. It looks like a whimsical fart peeking out of someone’s gaping O-ring, especially the way the circle is made up of red colored film that looks way too much like sphincter muscle.

That logo needs to be reworked stat. There’s a reason you should have at least one person with the mentality of a 12-year old boy on your graphic design team.
