Star Wars: Episode VII

Indie Revolver, which has brought us images of alleged new Stormtroopers in the past, have another new Stormtrooper design for us. This time, the art backs up reports of new "Chrome" troopers. Indie Revolver says that several sources have told them that these aren't proper Imperial Stormtroopers, but a private security force rented by Adam Driver's character. Driver is rumored to be playing a "wealthy aristocrat with an interest in Sith artifacts," but that is, as is all of this, unconfirmed right now. The images are below, and they look pretty good. Bill and Ted 3

Alex Winter says they have a script they like, and we may very well see it:

[Bill & Ted] will be 40-something and it's all about Bill and Ted grown up, or not grown up. It's really sweet and really f—-ing funny.

But it's a Bill & Ted movie, that's what it is. It's for the fans of Bill & Ted. It fits very neatly in the [series]. It's not going to feel like a reboot. The conceit is really funny: What if you're middle-aged, haven't really grown up and you're supposed to have saved the world and maybe, just maybe, you kinda haven't?

There's many versions of ourselves in this movie. [It's] answering the question: 'What happened to these guys?' They're supposed to have done all this stuff, they weren't the brightest bulbs on the tree, what happened 20 years later? To answer that question in a comedic way felt rich with possibility.

He said that Bill and Ted 3 making it into the rumor mill has been a curse, "It just takes a long time to put a movie together. Now we're having to build this thing in public, which is fine. I just feel bad [the fans] have to get dragged through this long, boring, protracted process." Which sounds like the movie may be a off, but isn't dead. [Yahoo!]

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children

Asa Butterfield ( Ender's Game) is reportedly Tim Burton's choice to play the lead, a teenager tasked with protecting a group of children with powers. Butterfield would play Jacob Portman, a 16-year-old searching for the mythical creature who killed his grandfather and, through that quest, finds Miss Peregrine's Home. [The Wrap]

Frankenstein

Xavier Samuel will play Frankenstein's monster (or whatever your preferred nomenclature for this creature) in an updated version of Mary Shelley's tale, set in modern day Los Angeles. He will be the creation of a husband and wife team, Victor and Elizabeth Frankenstein (played by Danny Huston and Carrie-Anne Moss). The film comes from Bernand Rose ( Candyman), who wrote and will direct it. [Deadline]

More officially comes word that Tyler James Williams ( Everyone Hates Chris) has joined the cast of season 5 as "Noah." This isn't a character from the comics, nor is it the Woodbury resident of the same name played by Parker Wierling. The best connection appears to be Noah Cruz, from the prequel video game The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct, who "roughly matches Williams' age and ethnicity." So maybe it's the TV show's version of that character whom Williams is playing. [The Hollywood Reporter, Shock Till You Drop]

Star Wars Rebels

Producer Simon Kinberg explained the connection between the new show and the films saying that he's "always felt it would lead into IV and potentially set up characters you might not meet until V, or VI, or even VII, but the notion was that this would stand alone from Episode VII. That doesn't mean that we can't introduce Easter eggs that will pay off in VII, VIII, IX."

Of the series' villain, the Inquisitor, Kinberg says that he's not a "believer" in the Empire, per se. He's is "more of a hunting dog." And Kinberg says the show's not afraid to get dark:

We are not afraid to take those characters to some dark places. In the first season, there are some backstories that get revealed for main characters that are a lot darker and more dramatic than anything I've ever seen in animated TV, and which have the same depth and childhood trauma that the characters in the movies had.

Agents of SHIELD

Lucy Lawless says the option is still there for her Isabelle Hartley to return:

It's whatever the writers want to write. All things are possible in SHIELD. That's what I love in this sci-fi comic world. There are no absolutes. There are no bottom lines. Every boundary is bendable.

The Originals

Nina Dobrev will gust star on the Vampire Diaries spinoff. She'll be playing yet another doppelganger in flashbacks. Says executive producer Julie Plec:

There's a lot of people that could cross over, and when we plan our crossovers, we like to think of the most clever way to integrate The Vampire Diaries mythology into The Originals mythology. There was a character's name introduced a long time ago in season three in association with Klaus [Joseph Morgan] and Elijah [Daniel Gillies] and how they became vampires and a girl that they both loved a long time ago who was the original doppelgänger, Tatia. So Nina Dobrev will be visiting The Originals for a nice little storyline in our fifth episode which airs November 3.
