Since it worked out so well when HBO hired The National to record "The Rains of Castamere" in the second season of Game of Thrones, it should probably be no surprise that The Hold Steady have also been hired to sing one of the series' iconic tunes. Specifically, they'll perform "The Bear and the Maiden Fair," about a bear that falls in love with, uh, a maiden fair. It's just a touch less morose than "The Rains of Castamere" (you can read the lyrics here), although I doubt that will prevent the producers from cruelly putting it at the end of a certain ursine appearance in season 3.
