An Early Contender for Best Science Fiction Music Video of the Year: Alice in Chains' "Hollow"

An astronaut is stuck in orbit above Earth, doing experiments with plants and weird slug-like creatures while his relationship slowly unravels via video chat, in the video for Alice in Chains' new song "Hollow."

Created by director Robert Schober (aka Roboshobo), who also created the video for Green Day's "Stray Heart," this short film features amazing videos and a sense of grungy, lonesome life in space that feels hauntingly real. Until it finally all crashes and burns. [via KROQ]

1. For Alice in Chains without Layne Staley, it's pretty good Alice in Chains.

2. Trippiest part of the video for me was when the lights on the Earth start winking out. Sure, it may have been the guy being overcome with smoke or something, but still made me wonder what the heck was going on down there.
