A short film about the monkey head transplant experiment of the 1960s

We've been loving the Midnight Archive's series of macabre web shorts (previously: 1, 2). One of their more recent installments is a short documentary on the late Dr. Robert White, a neurosurgeon who successfully transplanted the head of one monkey onto the body of another. You can also watch the Midnight Archive's most recent segment — on the ossuaries of Europe — here.

Didn't know about that Russian two head dog before. I would have like to know if he tried working on the nerve connections in the neck to the spine. As it is now the head would live but would be paraplegic. And the body would have to be on life support.

I'm sure there are people who'd like to put Stephen Hawkings head on a body to keep him alive or heck to have done for Steve Jobs.
