A Note to Readers

Hello, readers. You may have noticed that recently I haven’t been writing about comics for io9. That’s because I’m going to be writing comics for Marvel. But don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere.

A little while ago, Marvel approached me to see if I’d be interested in what is honestly a chance of a lifetime. I’ve never been a guy who’s wanted to write comics. Seriously. I like being a critic immensely and see that as my art. But I would have had a lot of regret if I didn’t do the project I’m working on. I’m not allowed to say what it is—that’s for Marvel to divulge in due time—but I’m having a lot of fun doing it.

I’ll still be at io9 but it’d be a conflict of interest to be writing critical assessments about comics while working on my own. So, for the duration of this assignment, I’ll be writing about film, TV, and other media where nerd culture lives, as well as working on some behind-the-scenes things. I came to io9 this past May and have been so grateful for the warm reception I’ve gotten from this site’s readers. I hope to continue to earn your appreciation with the work I do here and hope that you’ll enjoy the Marvel project I’m working on.

Video games. Comic books. Blackness.

This is getting ridiculous: does everyone writing for io9 turn into super awesome authors? What exactly are they feeding you lot?
