Needle in a Timestack
John Ridley is set to write and direct an adaptation of Robert Silverberg’s short story. It concerns a man whose marriage is scuttled by a time-traveling romantic rival. [Variety]
The film will partially shoot at the Tre Cime di Lavaredo in Italy, according to an Italian-language report from Guerrestellari.net. It’s a set of three famous mountain peaks that would probably make for a good Star Wars alien location. [Star Wars News]
Director Patty Jenkins discusses the character moments behind the film’s action sequences in a new interview with DC All Access:
Really, every action sequence is from [Diana’s] point-of-view and for her story, so there was no point in the movie that we ever stepped out and were like, ‘Look at this extravaganza!’ … She witnesses a battle on a beach that rocks her world and changes her understanding of what warfare is. And then she comes to man’s world and she sees a war that everyone says is impenetrable and nothing can be done about it, and she says ‘What am I going to do about it? … It makes it like everything else I’ve ever done, because you’re just saying, ‘Here’s my character, here’s the journey that they’re on, how do I want to experience that and how do you do it?’
Kingsman: The Golden Circle
Entertainment Weekly has four new pictures from the film, including one that just might have your first, incredibly blurry look at Colin Firth’s return.
Mary and the Witch’s Flower
Here’s a trailer for a new fantasy movie from Studio Ponoc, about a young girl who finds herself with the powers of a witch for a night.
Just Jared Jr. has set pics from what appears to be an upcoming scene that appears to involve Barry Allen tearily saying talking to his friends and maybe even Iris, all dressed in rather funereal black outfits. There’s also a woman not clad in black that might be Caitlin Snow, or otherwise the Star Labs scientist doesn’t appear to be among the mourners. The site also reports that the cast was seen filming scenes in a cemetery earlier in the day, so it seems to suggest that team Flash could be losing a major character in the back half of the season.
In possibly related news, Killer Frost and Vibe square off in the synopsis for “I Know Who You Are.”
Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team meet Tracy Brand (guest star Anne Dudek), a scientist, who may be the key to stopping Savitar. Unfortunately, Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) is also after Tracy so Team Flash must battle their old friend, which proves to be particularly difficult for Cisco (Carlos Valdes). Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and Cecile’s (guest star Danielle Nicolet) relationship takes a big turn.
The new series will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. [Screen Rant]
Alex gets kidnapped in the synopsis for her own self-titled episode, “Alex.”
Alex (Chyler Leigh) is kidnapped and the kidnapper threatens to kill her unless Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) releases a notorious criminal from prison. Supergirl and Maggie (Floriana Lima) have always had different approaches to apprehending criminals but this time they must work together to save Alex. Meanwhile, Rhea (guest star Teri Hatcher) has an interesting proposal for Lena (Katie McGrath).
Chyler Leigh told Entertainment Weekly that this will be a big episode for Alex and Maggie fans:
Episode 19 is a very big episode for the both of them just because it comes to dire circumstances, where it’s a situation of a rescue. It causes Kara and Maggie to have to rely on each other to figure out what happened to Alex… You have to see how they work together, and you have to see how they’re both fighting for the person that they love, that they care about, and how that can take a toll if you have differing opinions, different ways that you kill aliens. It’s this really great example of how deep all of the relationships are, but it really does put Maggie and Alex to the test in a very great way, but it’s rather dire.
Agents of SHIELD
A new photo posted to Nick Blood’s Twitter appears to be teasing the return of his character, Lance Hunter. Bearing it mind it could also be an old photo of the two on set, but considering the “let’s do pretty much whatever the hell we want” nature of the show’s current virtual-reality premise, it could be a return for Lance (and maybe Bobbi Morse, too?).
Meanwhile, Ward questions Simmons’ grasp on the reality of the framework in a clip from next week’s episode, “No Regrets.”
Here’s a synopsis for episode 10 of season four, the nicely titled, “Die All, Die Merrily.”
OCTAVIA FIGHTS FOR SURVIVAL - Octavia (Marie Avgeropoulos) fights in the final battle for her people’s survival, but not everyone is willing to play fair.
Charles Michael Davis makes his directorial debut in the synopsis for “High Water and a Devil’s Daughter.”
When it’s discovered that The Hollow’s latest servant is on the loose, Freya (Riley Voelkel) places a protection spell on the compound, forcing Klaus (Joseph), Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) and Hope (guest star Summer Fontana) to remain inside. Meanwhile, Elijah (Daniel Gillies) takes matters into his own hands when Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood) is reluctant to perform a dangerous ritual needed to strengthen their defense against The Hollow. Finally, while Freya enacts a risky plan that brings her face to face with their latest threat, an unexpected twist leaves her life hanging in the balance.
