Damon Lindelof and Brad Bird's recent sci-fi collaboration, oddly titled 1952, is shrouded in Spielberg face wonder and mystery... until now (maybe).
Director Brad Bird has recently tweeted an image of the strange Disney old timey banker's box that inspired this flick. The box was labeled "1952" and filled with enough treasures from the Mouse House to apparently inspire a sci-fi movie. There must be some truly inspiring crap in that box, because shortly after Jeff Jensen and Bird started working on the script with Lindelof, George Clooney signed on to star in the picture. People are saying the tone of this movie will be similar to Steven Spielberg's Close Encounters which, to be fair, was what Hollywood said about Super 8 and that turned into something entirely different by the end. Then again, Bird is directing this movie, so we're pretty optimistic.
So here it is: THE BOX that inspired a Clooney sci-fi picture. We can make out an image of Walt Disney and a whole lot of manilla envelopes. Anyone have any idea what's written on that record? Or anything else at all?
1952 is set to be released in theaters on December 19, 2014.
