The LEGO Movie hasn't even officially premiered yet, but Warner Bros. is already hot for a sequel. But this may not necessarily be good news.
The Wrap is reporting that Jared Stern, who penned The Internship and Mr. Popper's Penguins, has been hired to pen a sequel script. On the one hand, we're happy that The LEGO Movie is already being deemed a success. Because it's freaking great. On the other hand, a LARGE part of this film's charm is due to directors and screenplay writers Phil Lord & Christopher Miller. We already saw what happened when someone else made a sequel to Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs without Lord and Miller involved.
Of course, none of this is confirmed — so we'll have to wait and see how this all plays out.
