Now this is an interesting/terrifying/potentially exciting idea. A&E wants to turn the beloved vampire drama Let The Right One In into a TV series, with the help of the Teen Wolf writers.
THR is reporting that the Teen Wolf writers (and showrunner) Jeff Davis and Brandon Boyce are currently writing a script. Based on the book by John Ajvide Lindqvist, which Tomas Alfredson turned into the amazing Swedish film (and which director Matt Reeves later adapted in the US), the story is centered around a child-like vampire who moves into a new town with a companion. There, the little vampire strikes up a friendship with a boy who is seemingly the same age as her. While this sounds cutesy, the films and books are anything but that. It's a dark, beautiful story of love, loss, and lots and lots of blood.
Whether the series will take place at the boy's introduction to the vampire or after the two have become friends, we don't know. We'd gamble that the whole thing will most likely start at the very beginning — but again, that's just wild speculation. The series will be produced by A+E Studios with Tomorrow Studios (which produced with Teen Wolf).
Davis, Boyce, Adelstein, Clements and Simon Oakes will all executive produce, and we're pretty happy about this. MTV's Teen Wolf started off as a gag, but evolved into something truly great. However, we love this property and get insanely nervous whenever people futz with it. So fingers crossed.
