Thor: The Dark World
Richard Brake, who played Joe Chill in Batman Begins, has reportedly been cast as a captain in the Einherjar, an elite team of warriors who fight alongside Thor. Clive Russell, who will play the Blackfish on the next season of Game of Thrones, will reportedly play Thor's older brother Tyr, the Asgardian god of war. [Deadline]
Star Trek Into Darkness
Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays the movie's still unconfirmed villain, speaks in unsurprisingly generic terms about the movie:
It was an amazing experience ... I was bound to say that, but it genuinely was. It was just extraordinary. He's a wonderful human being to be around, J.J. [Abrams] — on every level, as a dad, as a friend, as a director, as a musician ... He's a polymath, he's a really talented human being. And he has time for everyone and it's all done with a really genuine interest in the story. So for all the bangs for your buck that you're gonna get with the film — which there are going to be aplenty — you have an investment, you care about what's happening to these characters, so it was really exciting.

So far, Thor star Chris Hemsworth is the only name attached to Steven Spielberg's movie about, well, a robotic apocalypse. Now we can add Dark Knight Rises star Anne Hathaway to the mix, who reportedly is in negotiations to play the female lead alongside Hemsworth. Also, recently departed 20th Century Fox head Tom Rothman is reportedly in talks to help produce the movie. [The Hollywood Reporter]
Franchise star Arnold Schwarzenegger seems to be distinctly less optimistic than he was previously about the possibility of further Terminator movies:
"I think (producer) Megan Ellison owns the rights to 'Terminator 16,' or whatever it is. They have been trying to put a script together but I've not seen it, so I've no idea. There's nothing on the drawing board at this point. Nothing on the plan."
Tom Twyker and the Wachowskis' adaptation of David Mitchell's genre-spanning novel will open in IMAX theaters on October 26. [Coming Soon]

Here's the latest teaser for the fifth and final season.
Here's a tidbit for some of the characters we'll meet in the Observer-dominated world of 2036, courtesy of Zap2It:
In the Observer-controlled future, there's a general lack of decency and dignity, most notably when it comes to a group of people referred to as Amber Gypsies. These creepy mercenaries cut out blocks of amber — with human being still encased inside of it — and sell it. And people use the ambered humans as furniture.
