Happy May, readers! Before we begin, remember that it is Free Comic Book Day this Saturday, May 5. You can read all about FBCD here and check out a preview of the FCBD Serenity comic at this link.

So, what's on the spinner racks tomorrow? Let's start with first issues.

First off, DC Comics launches the second wave of New 52 titles this month. There's the revamped Justice Society book Earth Two, the dinosaur throwback G.I. Combat, the Power Girl and Huntress comic World's Finest, and China Miéville's weirdo crimefighter comic Dial H. Here's our interview with him and a synopsis:

What would happen if you discovered the H Dial, an unbelievably powerful artifact that turned you into a super hero? And what if you found out that the world is threatened by this very device that's become your uncontrollable obsession?

Also, for those of you who need the magic to continue, a new series of Smallville comics starts today. I'm hoping that every other panel A.) takes place in the Kent barn; or B.) is a scene of Clark describing the sex lessons he received from his mean old Kryptonian computer father. This is what the fans crave! Look at that cover below! Even Clark's incredulous this is happening!

Finally, David Liss revamps the pulp hero the Spider for Dynamite Entertainment, a new X-O Manowar title is out, Fred Van Lente pens The Avengers tie-in comic Black Widow Strikes, the New Mutants/Journey Into Mystery crossover Exiled, and there's a one-shot collection of Andi Watson's Skeleton Key strips.

There are new issues of Avengers vs X-Men, Bulletproof Coffin: Disinterred, Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man, Wolverine And The X-Men: Alpha And Omega, Action Comics, The Boys, Animal Man, Justice League International (preview here), Swamp Thing, and Sweet Tooth.
