You've seen the glorious, crystal clear footage from the first Star Trek: The Next Generations Blu-Ray collection. And now a handful of Star Trek: TNG gifs have been uploaded, beautifully demonstrating the amazing transformation Captain Picard and his crew have made from blurry to Blu-Ray.

Remember, the folks behind these DVDs had to go back to the original uncut film negatives (25,000 plus film reels) and recut the episodes back together (as they originally appeared). According to the previous press release, "The visual effects were then all shot on film and will be painstakingly recompositioned, not upconverted from videotape. The newly cut film will then be transferred to true high-definition with 7.1 DTS Master Audio." That is a ton of work. Amazing. Check out some of the results:

We had to shrink a handful of these images down to fit, so please, please go and check out the massive gallery of gigantic gifs over at Random Tuesday.

Thank you Joel Johnson and Whitney Jefferson.
