Last Thursday, German news channel N24 was discussing how the Navy's SEAL Team Six participated in the mission to kill Osama Bin Laden. The report started out normal, but an image search snafu took the broadcast to the final frontier.
Rather than show the real logo of the United States Naval Special Warfare Development Group (known informally as "Team Six"), N24 displayed a fan-made logo for the Maquis, the anti-Cardassian rebel group that debuted on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. This logo (which came from the fan site Maquis Forces International) is adorned with three bat'leth swords, a phaser, and a grinning Klingon skull, the latter of which prompted N24 host Mick Locher to muse, "[Members of Team Six] don't have the skull in their emblem for nothing."
Whoops! Well, just a couple of days ago, it was making the internet rounds that titanium-toothed dogs were joining the Navy. Internet, ignore everything you've read above and let's kick the rumor mill to Warp 10.
