A new Futurama clip, set at Intergalactic Comic Con, takes geek in-jokes to a whole new level. The next Star Trek will go way darker. Plus Ghost Rider 2, Doctor Who, Bruce Vs. Frankenstein, The Event, V, Supernatural and Chuck.

Star Trek:

Damon Lindelof, who's helping to write the new movie's script, promises it'll be like The Dark Knight:

The bar is very, very high for the sequel. We're looking at a movie like The Dark Knight, which went one step beyond Batman Begins. It was really about something, and at the same time it was a superhero movie. We don't want to abandon all the things that made the first movie work...but we also really want the movie to thematically resonate.

Ghost Rider 2:

Speaking of totally awesome sequels... Nic Cage says the sequel is filming in Romania and Ghost Rider has to ride up to Dracula's castle. Will he actually meet Dracula? [ShockTillYouDrop]

Resident Evil: Afterlife:

Reporters got to see some new footage of a scene in which the ginormous, monstrous Executioner is shambling along, swinging his oversized weapon. He catches up with Claire, Alice and the others, preparing to descend into a sewer. He chops one of them in half, and nearly gets Claire, but she vaults over his head and shoots him in the face. This just makes him annoyed, and he nearly shoots Claire, but Alice pushes her out of the way in time and blows his head off. [IGN]

Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark:

Producer Guillermo del Toro explains why this movie is rated R.

The movie has no profanity, no nudity, no gore, no graphic violence, so we thought we were gonna get a PG-13, and we got an R. And we said, ‘What can we do? Why are you doing it?' And they said, ‘No matter what you do, the movie will always get an R, because it's too scary.' It deals with primal childhood fears in a really strong way.

Bruce Vs. Frankenstein:

No clue when Bruce Campbell will make his sequel to My Name Is Bruce, but he says it'll be full of monsters.

I want every horror movie icon in the movie. I want it to be the 'Mad, Mad, Mad World' of horror movies.

Episodes five and six will be called "No Ordinary Vigilante" and "No Ordinary Visitors," respectively. [KSiteTV and SpoilerTV]

They're still in the middle of filming the season opener, "Red Rain." And as that titular red stuff falls from the sky, there are tons of people passed out in the park. Meanwhile, Erica and Ryan head over to New York State University, seeking an evolutionary biologist, Dr. Ellis Watts — but instead they run into a future key member of the Resistance, Dr. Sidney "Sid" Miller. And in another scene, Ryan does lots of parkour stunts chasing a V tracker who's trying to get away from him. And there are tons of set pics.

Sam will be in the spotlight in the season opener, explains producer Sera Gamble: "Sam comes back under mysterious circumstances – as people tend to do when they get out of Hell!" And she says that Sam and Dean won't be striking up any new love relationships. "No, what the boys need is to be hunters, to save people while probably suffering a lot in their personal life on every level. That's what makes them heroes." [Fancast]

True Blood:

The season finale will be intense, says vampire king Denis O'Hare: "Sookie is very mean to me…Eric is very mean to me… and I cry tears of joy." And the fact that Arlene is seven to eight weeks pregnant with Rene's baby means very little time has passed since Rene died in season one. [E! Online]

There's a mysterious new character named Isis turning up in the episode of the same name, the fifth of the new season. And she's a generic Egyptian goddess, not related to the DC Universe character who's part of the Shazam family. There may be a wink to the classic 1970s TV show though. [Fancast]

And apparently "Isis" is actually Lois Lane in a new guise. [EW]
