We're as excited as the next man that the return of the SciFi Channel's Eureka has finally been scheduled. We just think that it's been scheduled in entirely the wrong timeslot, is all.
Quirky genius town dramedy Eureka (And that makes it sound really bad, doesn't it? Sorry; if you've not watched it yet, it's fun and you should. There. Balanced the scales) has been announced to take the place of Battlestar Galactica on Fridays at 9 pm when it returns on July 10th... which seems like a very bad idea to me. Don't get me wrong; it's not that I think Eureka is a worse show than BSG or anything like that, but it is the kind of light, funny entertainment that I feel would do better midweek, where audiences are higher and in more need of something to take their mind off their weeks.
Correction: We originally stated Eureka would be airing on Fridays at 10 PM. Actually, it's going to be on at 9 PM instead.
Of course, maybe it's being moved less because of itself and more to free up its old Tuesday timeslot for new series Warehouse 13, which premieres July 7th... and ushers in the channel's new name, as well.
