All five Star Trek Captains reunited on stage at Destination Star Trek London a week or so ago. Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew, William Shatner, Scott Bakula and Patrick Stewart were all there, talking Trek and taking questions from the fans.

Wired posted a great recap of the whole event, and we've gleaned the very best quotes from each Captain.

Avery Brooks (Captain Benjamin Sisko)

"We thought you'd be thrilled, we made him a god!" the writers told him about Sisko, to which he replied, "No. One of the most important things is to watch your children grow. A god can't do that."

Scott Bakula (Captain Jonathan Archer)

"[Quantum Leap's Sam Beckett] is still out there, doing good deeds…There's still a lot of love for the show and I think some Trek fans may have been influenced to go out and start watching it, which can only be a good thing for scifi."

Kate Mulgrew (Captain Kathryn Janeway)

"Everyone wanted Janeway to have a big bubumbabumba with Chakotay but I ask you, who's watching the ship?"… "Kirk, God bless him, I don't know how he got any work done."

William Shatner (Captain James T. Kirk)

"I chose to play Kirk's death with awe and wonder, the challenge is to maintain that attitude."

Patrick Stewart (Captain Jean Luc Picard)

"On Star Trek we are wearing costumes - and just like Elizabethan costume, no pockets. Sometimes actors would stand awkwardly because they didn't know what to do with their hands, but if you've spent half your career acting in tights…"
