Good news! Not only did Doctor Who film in the United States for the first time this year, but we're also getting the episodes the same day in the U.S. as in the U.K.

At least, Doctor Who Magazine reports that series six will launch in Britain over Easter weekend (April 23). And BBC America just announced their own premiere date — which as you can see from the new poster above, is also April 23. (You can download a much bigger version of the poster here.)

So rejoice, Americans! No more lag time before we get to see our favorite Time Lord in action. [EW]

Huzzahs for the americans and all that, at least if I want to discuss it in the O-Deck I can do it relatively soon post broadcast, and the recaps won't be a few episodes behind!

More importantly however, somebody give me a textless, larger version of that poster. Because that image is fucking awesome!
