Superman's city of Metropolis lies in ruins, with flames bursting out all over, in this piece of concept art from the forthcoming Mortal Kombat Versus DC Universe. crossover video game. The Daily Planet is mere rubble. Another piece of new concept art from Worlds Collide shows a new version of "Hell" from Mortal Kombat, populated by some DC and MK characters slugging it out. Below the fold, a gallery of concept art, a few new characters from the game including Superman, plus the games trailer after the jump (see Batman duke it out with Sub-Zero).

The Mortal Kombat Versus DC Universe video game has only released four characters including Batman, Superman, Sub-Zero and Scorpion. According to Kokatu, they'll be modifying fatalities. So no you probably won't be able to see Scorpion rip out Superman's spine. Which is kind of crap, I can't remember any other reason for playing Mortal Kombat other than to watch all buckets of blood gush out of each competitor. The PG version sucked because the blood was sweat, and nobody wanted to hang out with that kid. That being said, I hope they at least keep Scorpion's spear throw code as back, back, low punch. There is no release date set in stone yet for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 games (though many believe is will be out in November), but there should be a preview in July.
