Drunk on the success and movie admiration that comes from attending the Sundance Film Festival, William Hurt has gone ahead and officially confirmed for the first time the crossover between Marvel's upcoming Iron Man and Hulk movies. Not only that, but Hurt - who plays Hulkbustin' General Thunderbolt Ross in the Ed Norton-led Hulk reboot - let MTV News know that said crossover is, in fact, "funky."

Talking to MTV on the red carpet at Sundance, Hurt said that you can look for him to appear in Iron Man when that movie bows in May:

"I have a scene with Iron Man, with Robert Downey Jr.," the Oscar-winning actor told MTV News Friday at the Sundance Film Festival. "It's a funky scene... I don't know how it'll work," Hurt admitted, saying it was a thrill to appear as General Thaddeus Ross during Downey's scene. "I know it's weird [to work with a character from another movie], and to know it's a device. We did something; I don't know what that's going to be like [to watch]."

Also expected to appear in both films - and possibly in the same scene that Hurt is talking about - is Samuel L. Jackson as superspy and Director of SHIELD, Nick Fury.
