Crack open a cold one, folks. Jessica Jones is coming back for a third season.

If you kept up with the events of Jessica Jones’ second season, it should come as no surprise that the hard-drinking P.I. still has plenty of unfinished business to deal with in her corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Deadline is reporting that Netflix has renewed the show for a third season and while there are no details about its plot, it’s safe to assume that it’ll involve the latest hero who’s just made their transition over from the comics to the small screen.

I’ve really enjoyed all the Marvel Netflix shows - even Iron Fist, which I actually enjoyed more consistently than Luke Cage. Luke Cage started out fantastic, but there was a 3ish episode lull that was so bad that I didn’t even finish that season until right before Defenders started. It was when Luke was injured and the weird overacting cartoon villain showed up and killed the show’s momentum.

I had some moral qualms about Punisher as a character in general with the way the world is at the moment, but I’d rank Punisher up with seasons 1 of Daredevil and JJ; I thought it was fantastic in spite of my uneasiness regarding the character.

My biggest complaint with season 2 of Jessica Jones is how much it made me hate Trish. I adore Krysten Ritter as JJ, so I’ll take as much of this show (and any other they want to have her show up in) as they’re willing to make.
