Trailer FrenzyA special place to find the newest trailers for movies and TV shows you're craving.

Elements of Total Recall, Ghost in the Shell, and, uh, Face/Off pepper the trailer for Restoration, a noirish thriller about a man who is horrified to awaken from a memory-upload procedure to find he’s been zapped into the wrong body. Even worse, his old self is still out there—but occupied by someone else’s mind.

Here’s the official synopsis:

In the near future, a company offers individuals the service of having their memories downloaded “for backup.” So, in the event of death, those memories can be uploaded into a new body. After a routine backup, Oliver Klein wakes to find his memories restored into a body that is not his own. Trapped in a foreign body with its own “muscle memory,” Oliver discovers that he is capable of doing things the original Oliver never could and never would. Oliver must find a way to reconnect with his family and his life, while coming face-to-face with the truth that he is no longer the only Oliver Klein.

And here’s the trailer, the first line of which is: “Is this even legal?” Buddy, if you have to ask, you probably already know the answer.

So far Restoration is only available for viewing in its native Australia, but it looks intriguing enough to eventually make the leap beyond those borders.

Seriously? Another one of these movies!?! I guess we should just be glad Ryan Reynolds isn’t in this one too. There needs to be a moratorium on sci-fi movies about mind-body transfers and genetically engineered young girls who will kill you.
