If you and some friends decided to try and make some proton packs from the old Ghostbusters, they’d probably look like the proton backs in the new Ghostbusters.

Director Paul Feig took to Twitter yesterday to reveal the brand new costumes for his 2016 film and today, he put up a second photo, this one of the brand new proton packs. The packs certainly call to mind the design of the originals but, unlike those, these look much more realistic. Much more gritty. Much more homemade. It’s almost as if the characters in this movie made these by hand, and maybe that’s the case.

Ghostbusters, directed by Paul Feig, stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones as the main team. Chris Hemsworth is their receptionist. It’s currently shooting in Boston and will open July 22, 2016.

I liked the originals honestly.

This may look homemade, but we’re talking scientists and engineers, why would they make something that looks homemade? I always imagined it would look rather clean and professionally made. Not something mom and pop made in their garage on amateure night.
