Matthew Vaughn isn’t done with the characters of Kick-Ass, not by a long shot. He’s not just working on another sequel, but also on a prequel. A Hit Girl and Big Daddy prequel that he hopes will smooth over any lingering bad taste Kick-Ass 2 left.
Speaking to Yahoo!, Vaughn said gave his plan for reviving the series with two more films:
“We’re working on an idea for a prequel of how did Hit Girl and Big Daddy become Hit Girl and Big Daddy,” he said.
“If we make that, hopefully that will be the sorbet for the people that didn’t like ‘Kick-Ass 2’ and then we can go off and make ‘Kick-Ass 3’.
“I think we’ve got to do this prequel to regain the love that we had with ‘Kick-Ass’.”
It’s an interesting way to tackle the problem — giving a prequel to arguably the most popular character out of the franchise. And really, fingers-crossed, many fans of the first fan would love to see more of Nicholas Cage as Big Daddy.
