Horror-Comedy Movie Call Girl of Cthulu Looks Delightfully Demented

The Call of Cthulu is a Lovecraft tribute that follows artist Carter and the woman he's just fallen in love with, Riley, as they negotiate the fact that Riley's the chosen bride of Cthulu. Not in any way the weirdest take on the mythos there's ever been.

If you're in Texas, you can see Call Girl of Cthulu on April 16, 2015 (9:00pm) at the Alamo Village Theater, followed by a Q&A with Director Chris LaMartina and cast member Melissa O’Brien. Here's the synopsis:

Carter Wilcox (David Phillip Carollo) is a struggling artist who’s been saving his virginity for someone special. When he meets the enchanting escort Riley Whatley (Melissa O'Brien), he believes he’s found the one. Unfortunately, she’s also "someone special" to an ancient cult that believes she is the chosen bride of their alien god, Cthulhu.

Forced to mate with their tentacled deity, Riley becomes a vessel for the spawn that will destroy mankind.

Now, Carter and his noise musician roommate, Erica Zann (Nicolette Le Faye), must battle the sinister cult and unimaginable creatures to save Riley... and the rest of humanity.

Will they save the world or surrender to the slimy grip of the Great Old Ones?

Well, I know it's a truly primordial trope of horror fiction to mix sex with body horror but for me, there is only Shub Niggurath, the hyperspatial love goddess with countless trillions of young, who birthed/voided all of reality so that we may suffer and go mad with it! Her litany and prayers have been recounted on the Internet for more than twenty years now. The tentacles and insects in Japanese porn? Mere protrusions of her "loving" presence!

Those opiates in orgasm? Reminders that little death incontrovertibly and always leads to big death! She makes love to gods and clusters of galaxies die in horrible, sweet agony! The fear and revulsion we feel over sex? She wrote the book on it! The human centipede? Her tiniest daydream! The mutilation of John Wayne Bobbitt? These are kisses of the deepest, truest love! The guilt, emptiness and ambivalence you feel afterwards? She grows drunk on that absurd suffering. If you love sex, this is what you love!
