First CG Peanuts Trailer Feels Wrong, But Gets A Few Things Right

Trailer FrenzyA special place to find the newest trailers for movies and TV shows you're craving.

We don't know where to stand on this CG animated Peanuts movie trailer. True, they got the Snoopy laugh down as well as the adorable Red Baron action. But then the clip breaks for a rockin' music moment and we broke out into anxiety hives.

This newly CG styled Peanuts movie (which is weird enough all by itself) showcases Snoopy and Woodstock being generally sweet and sassy. But then it's MUSIC VIDEO TIME and this animation descends into the obligatory pop single peddling moment. And it feels wrong — really, really wrong. Thankfully we've been promised by producer Paul Feig in a USA Today interview that the Peanuts gang won't "twerk, wear a baseball cap backwards or try to 'break the Internet' a la Kim Kardashian." Good. And as you can see the gang is still in their traditional garb. However, if these kids whip out iPhones, we're done here.

Plus it just looks.... weird.

Yeah, that pop song is so far out of left field for Peanuts. I hope it's something closer to LEGO Movie where it's only used in promotions and the movie proper is just an original score (because that's ALL WE NEED in a Peanuts movie).
