Paul Feig’s upcoming Ghostbusters is simultaneously taking the comedy franchise in a whole new dimension and paying respect to the original. So while Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones are starring, the film is chock full of recognizable cameos too.

We know of many of the human cameos, and now we have word of a non-human one as well. Bloody Disgusting - a solid source with a history of being right - reports that everyone’s favorite green garbage machine, Slimer, will make an appearance when Ghostbusters hits on July 15.

Obviously, this makes a ton of sense. Slimer has basically appeared in every Ghostbusters iteration ever and early script reports mentioned him. But the original story noticed the IMDB listed Homer Simpson himself, Dan Castellaneta, as doing the voice of the character.

Slimer has never spoken, so that was odd. Then Paul Feig himself posted this.

But, he doesn’t say the “story” is incorrect. Just that the “IMDB credit” is not true. So Slimer is probably in the movie, he just won’t speak.

Either way, I’m very excited to see how he fits into this new world.
