Stopping trains, punching bears and beating up the Marvel Universe? It’s all in a day’s work for not one, but two Squirrel Girls.

At this year’s C2E2, Marvel announced that Squirrel Girl was getting her first graphic novel, Squirrel Girl Beats Up The Marvel Universe!, and now we’ve got a look at what’s in store. A few pages were released on Friday, showing our two Squirrel Girls kicking ass and taking names.

But wait, I thought they were supposed to be enemies?

According to the press release, Squirrel Girl Beats Up The Marvel Universe! has Doreen Green taking on an evil clone engineered “through all manner of mad science.” But the pages appear to show the girls fighting Spider-Man side by side, or at least in general proximity of each other.

It could be that one is trying to help Spidey while the other is trying to harm him, or they’re both trying to save him, or they just happen to be heading to the same location. Who knows yet? I’m really hoping the clone joins Squirrel Girl and, together, they take on the Marvel Universe. I mean, who wouldn’t Squirrel Girl love more than herself? She’s amazing!

Plus, that means both Anna Kendrick and Strange Things’ Sharon Purser could take on the role in a movie version. Ooh, I’m getting ideas. Marvel give me a call.
