An Air Force pilot escapes the wreckage of his plane in the short film Fragment, but that’s only the beginning of his troubles. As he follows a beacon, he’s drawn toward something in the desert — something monstrous.

Noah Griffith directed Fragment, and while it has a simple concept, it’s the execution that really wows. It builds from an uneasy uncertainty to a violent confrontation, and leaves us with a lingering shiver.
