Director Paul Feig just revealed the costumes for his Ghostbusters film, starring Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones. They’re definitely similar to the ones from the 1984 original film, but have a more realistic, fire fighter vibe to them. But that’s not the only Ghostbusters news today.

Earlier this year, news broke of a guy-centric, Channing Tatum-starring, Russo Brothers-directed Ghostbusters film that would take place in the same world as Feig’s movie. However, in a new interview, Tatum’s co-writer and producer Reid Carolin said this movie is dead.

No I don’t think [that movie is happening.] I think it’s too complicated. There’s a lot of things going on with that brand and I just feel like it’s over-saturated.

The odd thing about this quote isn’t that the Tatum Ghostbusters isn’t happening. We could have guessed that, when the Russo Brothers signed to direct back-to-back Avengers movies in 2018 and 2019. The odd thing about this quote is that all we publicly know about Ghostbusters is the Feig film. We’ve heard rumors of a prequel, something involving Phil Lord and Chris Miller and more. But if Carolin thinks the brand is too “over-saturated” for a film starring Tatum, we must be in store for a bunch of news in the coming months.
