The latest live-action iteration of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has cast a new Shredder, whose design was one of the few unambiguously good things about the first movie.

Shredder was played by Tohoru Masamune in the first film, but will now be played by Brian Tee (The Wolverine) in the second movie. Only time will tell if that means that something about the character has changed for the sequel. We already have Tyler Perry as Baxter Stockman, so it’s possible Shredder and the Foot Clan will be another side villain as they were in the first one. Or, we could be headed to another villain-gorged sequel.
