We love ourselves some Studio Ghibli around these parts, so it breaks our heart to see this unused pitch for a Ghibli-helmed Little Nemo in Dreamland. The studio's animators put it together in 1984, but Ghibli never developed the project in full.
In 1998, Stuart Immonen drew the origins of Superman's rogues gallery in the style of Winsor McCay's Little Nemo in Slumberland for an issue of Secret Files. Immonen's old-school depictions of Doomsday and Lex Luthor's origins are an absolute hoot.
