Guillermo del Toro has only made eight films. Sure, a ninth is on the way (with 10 on deck after that), but he’s become such a well-known pop culture persona, that number feels low. Maybe it’s because his movies are so rich, they stay with us long after we leave the theater.
Brute Nordic strength meets Thai fists, feet, and "how did he do that?" fury in this trailer for buddy-cop action thriller/B-movie schlockfest/1980s throwback Skin Trade. Need more? Ok: the villain is a gangster named "Dragovic" played by Ron Perlman. New trailer below ... pass the popcorn!
Aw yeah. Last night's Nikita gave two of the show's supporting castmembers a chance to shine, and the results were thrilling. Also, there was an excellent fakeout with Birkhoff, and a lot of spy-vs-spy action.
You think you know all about Pacific Rim, the robots-stomping-monsters epic that opens tonight? You haven't even scratched the surface. - Fanwankers, unclench: The Enterprise won't look much different in the new Star Trek movie, except for a "grittier metal texture." And J.J. Abrams has been shooting desert scenes that could be the birth of Spock. [IESB]
