Some of the biggest questions about Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice have to do with the shared universe it sets in motion. How will it affect future DC Comics movies, and who is steering the ship? The film’s director, Zack Snyder, explained all that and more at a press conference today.
Watching the trailers, reading the interviews, there’s no doubt that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is going to be a dark movie. Both literally dark, as lots of it takes place at night, and tonally dark, in that it’ll deal with some deep issues. But the film’s writer says things aren’t going to stay that way.
Marvel may have brought together all their best superheroes in The Avengers, but DC is bringing together their very own team of super villains in Suicide Squad. Hitting theaters in August, the dark comic book adaptation just released a crazy new trailer.
If Man of Steel, Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad are any indication, the DC Cinematic Universe is going to be much darker and grimmer than Marvel’s. But a new rumor suggests it’ll eventually get a big dash of fun and color, thanks to the misfit pairing of Booster Gold and Blue Beetle.
Update: Apparently this happened in June and I completely forgot it was already official. Possibly because DC/WB/Zack Snyder have never officially confirmed it, even though all the trades have. Given how many sites are reposting this news, I'm gratified to discover I'm not the only one who forgot.
