We learned a few weeks ago that Superman himself would finally be making a proper appearance on Supergirl, and now we know who’ll be playing him. It’s actor Tyler Hoechlin, and his take on the iconic character will debut at the very beginning of season two, and he’ll be in (at least) two episodes. Also, daaammmmnnn.

So, uh, Tyler who? The up-and-comer, who certainly looks appropriately hunky enough for the part, starred in Richard Linklater’s 1980s-set baseball comedy Everybody Wants Some! He’s also been on Teen Wolf and appeared on 7th Heaven, and as a young teenager he played Tom Hanks’ son in Road to Perdition.

Hey, if you’re finally allowed to have Superman show his face on his cousin’s TV show, you might as well make sure it’s a nice one, right?
