Star Wars Episode VIII
According to John Boyega, Rian Johnson’s Star Wars will be “a different take, darker, bigger”—but most intriguing is his response when asked about a possible romance with Rey:
I mean, we didn’t establish a romance in seven; we never played it that way. Daisy and I, we’re friends. Finn and Rey – they’re just friends. Finn is a storm trooper, so he doesn’t really know what’s going on. So the romance thing is something that’s going to be interesting in the next installment. It’s not going to go the way you think it’s going to go.
Director Ryan Coogler describes the challenges of making the movie his own, while fitting it into the house style of the Marvel Cinematic Universe:
It’s a specific challenge. What Marvel’s doing, and what you see a lot of studios doing now that Marvel has done it so successfully, is making content that exists in a particular universe, where the characters tie in and crossover, and I think that’s a great creative challenge to me—to make this movie as personal as possible. It’s going to be my most personal movie to date, which is crazy to say, but it’s completely the case. I’m obsessed with this character and this story right now, and I think it’s going to be very unique and still fit into the overall narrative that they’re establishing. I grew up as a comic book fan, and the same things used to happen in the comic books. You’d have Wolverine’s books, and they’d be so much darker and more brutal than the X-Men books, but they’d still fit in when you open the pages of the X-Men book. It’s new to movies, but it’s not new to storytelling.
Dwayne Johnson has confirmed he’s making a movie with Shane Black in 2017. Black has been very vocal about wanting to do a Doc Savage film with Johnson in the lead, so it seems like this could be the long rumored movie about the pulp hero.

The Jungle Book
Andy Serkis tells Vulture about what makes this movie different from the recent Disney remake:
Ours is for a slightly older audience. It’s a PG-13, more a kind of Apes movie, a slightly darker take, closer to Rudyard Kipling‘s. It’s great to scare kids in a safe environment because it’s an important part of development, and we all loved to be scared as kids, so we shouldn’t overly protect them. Kids are so sophisticated, and that is why our Jungle Book is quite dark. … It’s a story of an outsider, someone who is trying to accept the laws and customs of a particular way of living and then has to adapt to another culture, a human culture, which of course he should be able to adapt to, because this is what he is. So it’s about two different species and their laws and customs, and neither are entirely right.
A new featurette focusing on Rob Kazinksy’s Orgrim Doomhammer has been released.
Alice Through The Looking Glass
Disney has released a new IMAX-focused trailer as well as a segment of behind-the-scenes B-Roll.
Legends of Tomorrow
Marc Guggenheim tells Comicbook.com that the show’s second season will feature a lot more characters from DC’s comics roster:
We really — when it comes to something like having Jonah on the show, we didn’t look at it as something that would thrill the fans — we look at it as a bucket list. We wanted to do Jonah. We love the idea that the show is a gateway to the whole of the DC Universe, and we have an actual opportunity to go to every corner of the DC Universe, any time or any place that the story makes sense....
... I will say that you’ll see even more DC characters in Season Two. By a large margin.
Toby Jones has been cast in the second episode of the upcoming fourth season, and will play a villain. [Coming Soon]
