It's official: They're making a Preacher TV showMeredith Woerner2/06/14 3:45pmFiled to: preacheramctelevisioncomicsgarth ennissteve dillon2118EditPromoteShare to KinjaToggle Conversation toolsGo to permalinkThe wondrously grim and epically bloody comic book series Preacher, is filming a pilot for AMC. Hell yes.AdvertisementSeth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (who worked on This is the End together) and Breaking Bad's Sam Catlin will all work together to adapt Vertigo's acclaimed series. Created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, the book follows Jesse Custer, a Preacher who is physically searching for God (because God is shit and left his duties in Heaven). In search of the high power Jesse hits the road with his lady friend Tulip and Cassidy the Billy Idol-looking vampire who loves drugs. But of course, they are also being chased by the Saint of Killers. It's complicated. But awesome. According to THR, Rogen and Goldberg are writing the pilot with Breaking Bad's Catlin serving as showrunner. While there's no promise for a series, this is certainly a good sign for pilot production. Whatever, we're just so glad it's finally happening! This series is so delightfully demented, getting it on television (as opposed to turning it into a film) was the right move. Fingers crossed Rogen cameos as Arseface.
