Michna’s latest song, Solid Gold, featuring MNDR has a video that’s perfect for the geologist in you: it’s a neat, stop motion music video that features 60 different types of rocks set to a great track.

In this video, I obviously wanted to work with the beautiful textures of the rocks and tried to add something dynamic and kinetic effects to enhance the sequences. That’s why a large amount of shots are done mixing stop motion and motion design.

What’s really cool about this is the variety of textures: this reminds me quite a bit of when I was studying geology in college, where my fellow students and I spent hours examining minerals and grain textures in the rocks before us.

You can see what rocks are featured, here.
