And a Doctor Who icon could be in Star Wars. Amazing Spider-Man 2 may have a new name, and Geoff Johns says we should be excited for the Jim Gordon TV show. Plus the first looks at Stevie Nicks in American Horror Story and Oliver's brand new look in Arrow. Spoilers ahead!
Latest casting gossip is that Matt Smith has auditioned for a role in Episode VII. Which could very well be true, since it seems like they're auditioning everyone over there. [Making Star Wars]
Guardians of the Galaxy
Zoe Saldana fully believes that this movie's going to show heroes that are very different from the classic heroes that you've seen before:
A new way to view superheroes. I mean I love sometimes the consistency of what the classics have left behind, but I need innovation, and you can only have so much of 'I'll save you!' after a while it's like 'Oh god, does he go to the bathroom? Is he hungry? Does he cry? Does he feel?' Not only do we cover that, we're making heroes after thieves and they're Robin Hoods and I love that because I'm an underdog. I always like the longer route, the hardest route, because that's the only one that's going to teach you great lessons in life and these characters are absolutely amazing and they have a full blown redemption. So to be able to sink your teeth into such meaty characters and to be a part of such a story that is very unique and obviously has everything that I love: it has space, it has a cooky director, it literally has just cojones. It has amazing actors that you would have never thought to put them all together and somehow we're all here, giving 150% and loving the story that we're doing.
On the other hand, Michael Rooker's not revealing much about his character, Yondu, and his powers:
I don't think I'm at liberty to discuss any powers of any sort… Y'know, most of the roles I play, just by it being who I am – normally they're somewhat formidable individuals. That's just sort of my look and my build. So we utilise that in almost everything I've done, and it's the same in Guardians.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2
I was getting pretty comfortable with this movie being the only sequel that was perfectly happy to have a "2" in the title. But rumor has it that recently announced title for Brazil, The Amazing Spider-Man: Rise of Electro, will also be the official title in other countries. Sony hasn't been able to confirm it, but there does seem to be an allergy to numbers in sequel titles, so that announcement could be coming. [Coming Soon]

The "Day of the Doctor" promo train just keeps plugging. The first major bit of news is the confirmation of rumors that 1970s star Tom Baker will be in the special. Baker called his appearance "extraordinary" and added:
I am in the special. I'm not supposed to tell you that, but I tell you that very willingly and specifically; the BBC told me not to tell anybody, but I'm telling you straightaway.
And before it airs on Saturday, here's a clip from "Day of the Doctor":

Person of Interest
After her big death scene, Taraji P. Henson says that she's totally up to return in a flashback, and explains what will happen to Carter's son:
The show is a frequent employer of flashbacks. Do you think you'd be up to return in one?
Maybe they'll write me in — I'm totally up for that. When [creator] Jonah [Nolan] first called and asked me to read the script, I just knew there was nothing like this on television. You always know these characters are going to make it, that they're going to live, and sometimes they tease you with a cliffhanger at the end of the season, but everybody knows deep down that character's coming back. I just thought [Carter's story] was brilliant and I was down for it.
How will Carter's death affect her son Taylor?
I think the writers were brilliant in how they wrote the story and brought [Taylor's] father back. Yes, it's sad because we lose Carter, but great things happen on her journey to set her son up. My dad died in 2006. As hard of a pill as it is to swallow, it's reality, and unfortunately for Taylor, he lost his mother, but he gained a father. Through her journey, she was able to get his father the help he needed, and now at least he has his dad, and his dad is healthy and sane and in his right mind.
Katrina Law, formerly of Spartacus, has been cast as Nyssa al Ghul, the other daughter of Ra'as al Ghul. She'll arrive as a powerful member of the League of Assassins. [TV Guide]
And Oliver's finally getting a mask! According to Andrew Kreisberg:
Conceptually, it was something we wanted to do because Oliver himself is evolving as the Arrow– from vigilante to hero, sort of from Arrow to Green Arrow — and we wanted to see that progression in his costume as well. As Oliver is embracing being a hero, being a hero means stepping out of the dark and being more of a symbol, so he has to take steps to conceal his identity more.
And here are pictures of it. [Entertainment Weekly]

According to Robbie Amell, there's a whole lot of Jedekiah coming up:
I want to know about Jedekiah's mystery lover, so when will we find out more about her?
You find out more about her in episode 7. Actually [in] episode 8, you find out that she might be Jedekiah's weak spot. She might be his Achilles heel and the Tomorrow People try and use her against him.
Are we ever going to get Jedekiah flashbacks?
Absolutely. Episode 8 you get to find out a lot about Jedekiah and John and my dad. It's my favorite episode I've seen so far. The very end of 7, you meet my dad for the first time not in a flashback, and it really becomes the catalyst for episodes 8 and 9, and really the rest of the season. So you get a ton of flashbacks in 8 and 9 about Jedekiah and my dad. And episode 13 or 14 or something is a massive episode with flashbacks of my dad and Jedekiah working together at Ultra.
What about Jedekiah's boss…
He is the scariest dude on the show.
Do you know what he looks like yet?
You meet him in episode 8. I have shot a bunch of scenes with him. He's coming back episode 13, I believe. He's in episodes 8 and 9, and maybe 10 or 11, and he's back in 13. He makes Jedekiah look like a good guy. He is fantastic. The guy who's playing him, he is such a fantastic actor. Working with him was incredible, and his entrance in episode 8 — he is the real deal.
Robert Gant has been cast as the boyfriend of Stephen's mom, Marla. Stephen is suspicious of the boyfriend, Peter, and thinks he has ulterior motives for dating his mother. [TV Line]
Agents of SHIELD
Chloe Bennet, who plays Skye, is as much in the dark about the mystery of her character's parents as the audience, saying she knows:
Not much more than the audience, to be honest. I found out a little bit this week, this episode, but not much. It's exciting for me as an actor to wait for these scripts because I'm obviously very attached to the story line, so I get very anxious to read more about it because I want to know probably just as bad as Skye does what happened. We'll find out a little more each week. It's definitely her main story line. Everything that she does is driven by her wanting to find out more about her family. She's a young woman who has no one. She has no family before this team, she's never had anyone to really care about her. She's had a boyfriend, Miles, but she's never really had that unconditional love from a family member and that's got to be devastating, so obviously this is her number one priority to find out more about her family.
