Meryl Streep is circling the Mary Poppins sequel. James Gunn talks about Baby Groot’s memory in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Plus go behind-the-scenes on Suicide Squad, and new teasers for American Horror Story’s next season. To me, my Spoilers!

Mary Poppins Returns

Meryl Streep is in talks to join the sequel as Topsy, Mary Poppin’s cousin and a supporting character from P.L. Travers book Mary Poppins Comes Back, but who was not included in the original 1964 movie. [Variety]

Nick Jonas is apparently in the running to play a lead role in the remake.[Deadline]

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

James Gunn equates Groot’s resurrection to Spock’s in Star Trek III, noting that the baby version of the character still remembers the events of the first film.

He remembers. He’s not mentally a baby, he is still Groot...I sort of equate it to Spock circa the end of ‘Search for Spock’ and ‘The Voyage Home.’

Suicide Squad

Here’s a new behind-the-scenes featurette on the film:

Maximum Ride

Here’s a new trailer for the movie about six children genetically cross-bred with avian DNA, on a journey to discover their true origins.

The Defenders

Asked if the Punisher would join Luke Cage, Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist in the series, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos replied:

Uh… stay tuned.

Which is a bit more leading than a “no comment” or some similar answer.

While from the beginning of Marvel and Netflix’s deal The Defenders has been envisioned as a four-person team-up, the Punisher’s arrival in the crossover wouldn’t be too surprising, given that his debut in Daredevil was so popular it earned the character his own Netflix series.

Amy Acker will guest star in the show as a secret agent operating out of Caracas, who MacGyver is tasked with rescuing when her undercover operation is exposed. [TV Line]

The Man in the High Castle

Tate Donovan has joined the series in a recurring role as George Dixon, a “mysterious figure” that has history with Juliana. [Deadline]

American Horror Story

Finally, here’s a few more creepy teasers for the show’s upcoming sixth season.
