Look, I’m as surprised as you are that the Ninja Turtles apparently have a cookbook coming out filled with suitably wacky pizzas. Don’t they order takeout to the sewers more than anything? But hey, if you ever want to recreate the TMNT in your own kitchen, do we have the goofy book for you—no grimy sewer pizza required.
Written by Peggy Paul Casella with photography from Albert Yee, and published by Insight Editions, The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pizza Cookbook is, well, exactly what it says: a collection of recipes for making 65 different pizza or pizza-inspired treats, from TMNT staples like the classic New York style slice, to some more... let’s say avant-garde options, like pizza-themed ramen. That is something I’m pretty sure Leo, Mikey, Donatello, and Raph would consider borderline heretical, but you do you!
Take a look at some of the recipes inside the book—packed with old school artwork from the classic cartoon—in a trailer for the cookbook, making its heroically half-shelled debut here on io9:
It’s a wonderfully silly idea, and who can say no to pizza? Not us, not the Ninja Turtles, not anyone. Might as well have some ideas to change it up every once in a while in your back pocket if you’re ever craving a slice.
