Is Indiana Jones dead at last?Meredith Woerner7/27/12 9:30amFiled to: Indiana JonesMoviesFrank MarshallGeorge Lucas174EditPromoteShare to KinjaToggle Conversation toolsGo to permalink First we hear that George Lucas won't be scripting the next Indiana Jones movie. And now, producer Frank Marshall says Indiana Jones 4 was the "last hurrah" of the series, at least as far as he's concerned.AdvertisementIn an interview with Collider Marshall explained everyone's stance on making one last Indiana Jones movie. And it sounds like he's already made his mind up:"I say, for me, [Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is] the last hurrah. I know that yes, we talk about it, but there's no idea, there's no MacGuffin... [Lucas] isn't [hungry to do another Indiana Jones]."Lucas recently stepped away from his own company Lucasfilm, handing his role over to Marshall's wife, Kathleen Kennedy.AdvertisementSeparately, in an interview with Crave, Marshall sounded slightly more upbeat, saying that everybody would "love to keep the series going," but only if they could come up with a "really good story. They're hard to do." He reiterated that Lucas isn't working on a new Indy script at all.It sounds like nobody is particularly anxious to make one more Indiana film — which might be for the best, after the last contribution. Although it's a mite generous to call Kingdom of the Crystal Skull a "hurrah," last or otherwise.
