When neighbors confronted Hull, England resident Leanne Fennell about thumping late-night music and empty alcohol bottles littering her yard, she informed them that the netherworld was reenacting a Kid and Play movie on her property.
But unfortunately for Fennell, the police were not so understanding of these unwanted spectral bacchanalias. Explains the news site This is Hull and Reading:
Hull City Council prosecuted Fennell after she ignored a noise abatement notice served earlier this year. Council officers also seized four televisions, four DVD players and a CD player, which will now be destroyed. One neighbour, who did not wish to be named, said: "She told us a poltergeist would keep switching the music on really loud when she was in bed."
Authorities slapped Fennell with £870 in fines and costs, which the town will presumably earmark toward a medium's fee. For another example of rude invisible house guests, see the phantom diddlers of Ohio.
